Installation guidelines

6.1

Emergency power supply

The AXS4Secure is equipped with a space for 1 battery.
Recommended battery: 12 V DC / 3.4 Ah, Item no. 018003.10 (not included in state of delivery).
We recommend to fix the battery on the housing base, using Fixing and Velcrotape (Item no. 055280).
6.2

Grounding/Shielding

The brass rail (shield terminal block) at the cable entry serve as a
point of support to connect earth lines and cable shields.
The grounding bridges on PCB creates a capacitive coupling between
the earth line and the reference potential of the system operating volta-
ge.
The following variants are available for additional shield wiring:
A) Connect to earth line and leave earthing bridges closed:
In general, this circuit offers the best protection against wireline
faults and faults that occur due to cable shield discharges.
However, it should be adopted only if PE and N are installed se-
parately (modern earthing) and the earth line is guaranteed not to
cause low or high-frequency signals.
B) Connect to earth line and open earthing bridge:
The capacitive coupling to the reference potential of the system operating voltage is broken by the
open earthing bridge. In some cases, this circuit is installed when the earth line is itself prone to
faults, and there is the danger of faults being transmitted to the system through capacitative coup-
ling.
C) Connect to own system earth and leave earthing bridge closed:
The brass rail (shield terminal block) at the cable inlet serve as a point of support for connecting the
earth line and cable shields. It should be connected to a new system earth that has to be set up. For a
very heavily loaded earth line, this is the only option to prevent interference on the cable shields.

Tamper monitoring

For the tamper monitoring the panel cover contact is used.
It is possible, to install in addition to the cover contact the attached tear-off protection.
The complete tear-off protection incl. spacers in various lengths is also available as accessory, Item
no. 055140 (PU = 5 piece). The Mounting Instruction P02916-47-002-xx is included.
Connection of the tamper contact(s) see chapter 10.3.
6.4

RS-485 bus connecting cable

The BUS connecting cable must be a shielded, twisted pair (or
4-wire) line. Wires must correspond with the diagram right.
Connect the shield in the housing to the shield connection bar.
Keep the shield connections as short as possible to avoid the
risk of a short circuit.
