Initial operation as cabinet skimmer
The skimmer has to be upright, which is decisive for
its efficiency and is the pre-requisite for a low noise
level of the unit. Connect the plug to the mains; the
water in the skimmer will rise up to the outlet pipe
passing over the cartridge mat.
Open the air regulating screw (1) by three full
turns (six turns in model 9016); after a period of
24 to 72 hours, the Comline DOC skimmer can be
adapted precisely to the organic load of the tank.
The skimmer water should be slightly coloured; if
the foam is dark and highly viscous or does not rise
in the reactor, open the air regulating screw by 1/2
turns. In case of aqueous foam, the air regulating
screw has to be closed by 1/2 a turn. This adaptation
should be carried out in small steps only, taking a
period of 24 hours.
Opening the air regulating screw: In models 9006
and 9011 – two to four turns; in model 9016 between
six turns to completely open; and in model 9021
four to six turns.
During the start-up phase of the Comline DOC
skimmer, frequently no normal foam develops; this
may take between some hours and up to three days
to occur.

L'écumeur doit être parfaitement vertical, ceci est
déterminant pour le bon fonctionnement et le faible
niveau sonore de l'appareil.
Raccordez la prise électrique de l'Hydrofoamer au
secteur. L'appareil est en service et l'eau s'élève
jusqu'à atteindre le tuyau de sortie puis s'écoule sur
la cartouche en mousse.
Ouvrez la vis de réglage d'air (1) de trois tours
complets (6 tours pour le modèle 9016). Après une
durée de 24 à 72 heures, Comline DOC Skimmer
peut être précisément ajusté à la charge organique
de l'aquarium, le liquide écumé doit être légèrement
teinté. S'il est très foncé ou si l'écumage n'est pas
encore effectif, ouvrez la vis d'air d'un demi tour.
Si le liquide écumé est trop clair, fermez la vis d'un
demi tour. Ces ajustements ne doivent se faire que
par petites étapes et sur une durée de 24 heures.
Ouverture des vis d'air : 9006 et 9011 de 2 à 4
tours, 9016 de 6 tours à l'ouverture complète, 9021
de 4 à 6 tours.
Durant la phase de démarrage de Comline DOC
Skimmer, l'écumage n'atteint pas immédiatement
son efficacité maximale, pouvant durer de quelques
heures à trois jours (2).
