MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
Proper servicing and adjustment are the basis for the long life of all agricultural machinery.
Thorough and systematic inspection can save expensive maintenance, time, and repair.
WARNING
For safety reasons, all maintenance must be performed with the PTO disengaged, the
machine lowered to the ground and the tractor switched off and with the ignition key
removed.
MAINTENANCE PLAN
After one hour of operation:
• Tighten the bolts on the flail rotor's bearing case.
• Tighten the bolts on the pulleys.
• Adjust the tensioning of the V-belts.
After every 25 operating hours
• Lubricate all grease nipples on the mower, including on the PTO shaft.
• At the same time, check the oil level of the right-angle gear unit. Replenish, if necessary, but
never overfill. (The axle housing must not contain oil.)
• Tighten any loose bolts and nuts on the mower.
• Make sure the belts are sufficiently tensioned. Tighten if necessary. (New belts always
stretch slightly after being used for a short time).
TIGHTENING OF V-BELTS
Tighten the V-belts by loosening the two bolts
(1). Adjust by screwing the bolt (2). After
adjustment, retighten the bolts (1).
Raise the right-angle gear unit to keep the
shaft from the right-angle gear unit for the
pulley horizontal. Loosen the four bolts (3),
raise the right-angle gear unit until the axle
housing is horizontal and retighten the bolts
(3).
REPLACEMENT OF FLAILS
The flail rotor will get out of balance and the entire mower will shake if a flail breaks, for instance. If
a flail is damaged, replace it immediately.
