Selecting a desired track at the stop mode
1 Press S or T ( PREV ¡ or NEXT ™ on

faster than normal rate and at a reduced

Setting the clock
The clock will display in 24-hour mode, e.g.
00:00 or 23:59.

Changing the display mode
during playback
You can change to a different type of time
display when the CD is playing.
• Press (or DISPLAY on the remote control) to
cycle through the various time display modes.
– The display will show :
Elapsed playing time of the current track –>
Remaining playing time of the current track –>
Remaining playing time of CD –> ...
Shuffle
SHUFFLE – playing all the tracks in random order.
It can also be used when tracks are
programmed.

To shuffle all the tracks
1 Press CD ( SHUFFLE ) (or SHUFFLE on the remote
control).
– "SHUFFLE" scrolls once on the display.
– The
flag and the track selected at
SHUFFLE

random appear on the display.
• The tracks will now be played in random
order until you press STOP 9 or until all the
tracks have been played once
2 Press CD ( SHUFFLE ) again to resume normal
playback.
– The
flag disappears from the display.

TIMER SETTING
Setting the Timer
• The system can switch on to TUNER, CD, TAPE
or REC TU mode automatically at a preset
time.
It can serve as an alarm to wake you up.
One hour after the preset time, the system will
return to the standby mode if no button is pressed.
• Before setting the timer, make sure the clock is
set correctly.
• The timer setting will remain active until you
reset it.
• The volume of the timer will be at the last
setting before the set is switched to standby
mode.

3a If you select TUNER...
you should first select the desired waveband

track 1 will be selected and playback starts
automatically at the preset time.

3a If you select TAPE...
tape playback will start automatically at the
preset time.

Programming Tracks
Programming tracks of a loaded CD is possible in
the stop mode of the CD. The display will indicate
the total tracks stored in the program. Up to 20
tracks can be stored in the memory in any order.
When 20 tracks are stored and you attempt to store
another track, the display will show "PROGRAM
FULL".
1 Load the desired disc in the disc tray.
2 Press S or T ( PREV ¡ or NEXT ™ on
the remote control) to select the desired track.
3 Press PROG. to store the track.
• Repeat steps 2 and 3 to store other discs and
tracks.

Playing the program
1 Press PLAY B on the set or remote control to

start program playback.
– "PROGRAM PLAY" scrolls once on the
CD
display.
– The track number and elapsed playing time of
TUNER
the current track will appear on the display.
2 Press STOP 9 on the set on the remote control
to stop program playback.
Erasing the program (in the stop position)
CD
• Press STOP 9.
– The last stored track is erased.
TUNER
– "CLEARED" appears on the display.
• Press and hold STOP 9 for 2 seconds.
CD
– All the programmed tracks are erased.
– "PROGRAM CLEARED" appears on the
display.

Note : The program is also erased when the set
is disconnected from the power supply or the CD
tray is opened.

a blank tape has to be inserted into the
cassette compartment.
Press PRESETA or B to select the preset
station to be recorded.

Then, continue with steps 4 to 9.

Notes: When no button is pressed for 10

CD Synchro Start Recording
1 Load a blank cassette into the cassette deck.
2 Press TAPE ( ∫ ) or SIDE on the remote
control to select the play mode ( å or ∂ ).
3 Select side A or B of the cassette.
– The A or B flag appears in the display,
depending on the side selected.
4 Press CD on the set or remote control to select
the CD mode.
5 Load a disc into the disc tray.
6 You can program the tracks in the order you
want them to be recorded (see Programming
Tracks). If not, the tracks are recorded

according to the selected disc.
7 Press REC 0 to start recording.
– "ONE TOUCH RECORDING" scrolls once on
the display.

– The
flag appears.

– The CD starts playing after a seven-second
delay to prevent recording on the leader tape
at the beginning of the tape.
8 Press STOP 9 to stop recording.
OTHER FEATURES
Mute
This feature allows you to temporarily switch off
the sound of the system without switching off the
set when you require a moment of silence.
• Press MUTE on the remote control to switch off
DBB
the sound.
– "MUTE" is displayed.
STEREO

PRESET
• Press MUTE again on the remote control to
switch on the sound.
Sleep
This feature allows you to select a time after
which the system will switch to the standby mode
automatically.
• Press SLEEP on the remote control repeatedly

to cycle through the sleep timer mode.
– "SLEEP" and the
flag are displayed.

When the sleep timer is switched on, to check
the remaining time before the set switches to

To switch off the sleep timer mode.
• Press SLEEP until "OFF" is displayed or
press y.
