Maintenance schedule
Task
Clean the air filter
Replace the air filter
Examine the spark plug,

7.2 To clean or replace the spark
plug

Stop the product and remove the spark plug cap.

Loosen the spark plug with the spark plug wrench.

Clean the spark plug electrode with a brass brush
or replace it if necessary.

Adjust the electrode gap to 0.76 mm. Use a feeler
gauge. (Figure 5)

Tighten the spark plug by hand until it seats and
then tighten it to 20–30 Nm with the spark plug
wrench.
7.3 To clean the air filter
Warning! Stop the product, remove the spark plug
cap and let all moving parts have come to a complete
stop before you clean the air filter.
If the air filter is blocked, the air supply will decreased
and the engine will not function correctly.
● Do not start the product without an air filter.
● Do not use petrol or flammable solvents to clean the
air filter.
● Clean the air filter more often if there is a lot of dust in
the air.
● Replace the filter if it is very dirty.

Release the clip of the air filter guard and remove
the air filter guard.

Remove the air filter.

Clean the air filter with compressed air or tap it
against a hard surface.

Carefully tap the air filter guard against a hard
surface to clean it.

Put back the air filter in the air filter guard.

Install the air filter guard in its position and lock it
with the clip.
7.4 To replace the cutting blade
Warning! The cutting blade can only be sharpened
and by an approved personnel.
Warning! Stop the product, remove the spark plug
cap and let all moving parts have come to a complete
stop before you tilt the product.
Note! Do not turn the product upside down. Tilt it
towards the engine oil tank.
● Wear safety gloves to prevent cut injuries.
● Examine the cutting blade before each use. Damaged
or blunt blades have unwanted effect on the function
of the product.
● If the blade or screws are worn or damaged, both the
blade and screws must be replaced.

Hold the cutting blade with one hand and loosen
the hex screw counter-clockwise. Use a 16 mm
wrench. Remove the washer and blade.

Attach the new or sharpened blade to the two taps
on the mounting flange and lock it into position
with the washer and the hex screw.

Make sure that the blade is correctly installed and
tighten the hex screw to 45–50 Nm. Do not tighten
the hex screw too much.
7.5 To change engine oil
Warning! Stop the product, remove the spark plug
cap and let all moving parts have come to a complete
stop before you fill up the engine oil tank of the product.
● The new engine oil must be at room temperature.
● Change the oil when the engine is warm.
