3.3 Extension cables

Extension cables are available. Refer to
• SC4500 and SC200 Controllers—400 m (1312 ft)
• SC1000 Controller—100 m (328 ft)
SC200 and SC4500 Controllers—Use a digital termination box if the cable length is more than 100 m
(328 ft). Refer to Replacement parts and accessories
3.4 Connect a sensor cable with bare-wires (non-hazardous location)
Electrocution hazard. Always remove power to the instrument before making electrical connections.
Electrocution hazard. High voltage wiring for the controller is connected behind the high voltage
barrier in the controller enclosure. The barrier must remain in place except when installing modules,
or when a qualified installation technician is wiring for power, relays or analog and network cards.
Hard-wiring the sensor to the controller is not an approved method for Class I, Division 2 Hazardous Locations.
If the sensor cable does not have a quick-connect connector
cable to the controller as follows:
Note: A sensor cable with bare wires cannot be connected to an SC1000 Controller.
1. Find the conduit wiring kit (9222400) in the shipping carton for the SC200 Controller.
The kit contains four splice connectors.
2. Follow the instructions supplied in the conduit wiring kit to connect the sensor cable to the
controller.
