5. Special conditions for safe use (X-conditions)
5.2.7 Transmitter model T38.R-*E*** (rail-mounted version, Ex ec)
The transmitter must be mounted in a case that meets a minimum ingress protection

of IP54 in accordance with IEC 60079-0 and in which electrostatic charging effects
are excluded.
The instrument must be installed in an area with at least pollution degree 2.

The use of the PU + and - connections is only permitted outside of the Ex
■
atmosphere and if the + and - connections are not connected.
5.3 CSA approval
5.3.1 Transmitter model T38.x-CI**
These models are designated for installation inside a suitable enclosure providing
■
degree of protection at least IP20 for EPL Ga or Gb application.
The enclosure may be located in EPL Ga area (zone 0), EPL Gb area (zone 1), or
■
optionally in the safe area.
The influence of power dissipation of other devices placed beside the transmitter has
■
to be taken into account with regard to temperature rise of the transmitter's ambient
temperature.
During the installation internal wiring, clearances, creepage distances and separa-
■
tions have to be considered according to CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 60079-11
5.3.2 Transmitter model T38.x-CI**
These models are designated for installation inside a suitable enclosure providing
■
degree of protection at least IP20 for EPL Gc application.
The enclosure may be located in EPL Gc area (zone 2), or optionally in the safe area.

The influence of power dissipation of other devices placed beside the transmitter has
■
to be taken into account with regard to temperature rise of the transmitter's ambient
temperature.
