5. Special conditions for safe use (X-conditions)
5.1 For all transmitter models
The permissible ambient temperature range depends on the maximum input power and
EN
the temperature class, see parameter.
T38.H-****:
Restriction in operation with display to ambient temperature range -30 °C ... +60 °C
T38.R-****:
The surfaces of the cases are not conductive. The temperature transmitter must be
installed so that no electrostatic charges can occur.

5.2 ATEX and IECEx approval
5.2.1 Transmitter model T38.H-*I** (head-mounted version, Ex ia)
Installation in safe area or area with EPL Gb requirements:
The transmitter must be mounted in a case that meets a minimum ingress protection

of IP20 in accordance with EN 60529.
With the installation of the transmitter in a case, the inner wiring, air and creep
■
distances and separation distances must be in accordance with EN IEC 60079-11.
Installation in area with EPL Ga:
The transmitter must be mounted in a case that meets a minimum ingress protection
■
of IP20 in accordance with EN 60529 and in which electrostatic charging effects are
excluded.
With the installation of the transmitter in a case, the inner wiring, air and creep
■
distances and separation distances must be in accordance with EN IEC 60079-11.
Installation in area with EPL Da or Db requirements:
The transmitter must be mounted in a case that is suitable for installation in areas
■
with EPL Da or EPL Db and ensures a minimum ingress protection of IP6x in
accordance with EN IEC 60079-0 and in which electrostatic charging effects are
excluded.
