General safety notes
The relevant operational safety regulations and the hazardous substances ordinance or national equivalents apply for the
operation of the system.
The operating company of the system must:
Prepare a risk assessment
Identify and indicate danger zones
Give safety instruction to personnel
Secure the system against unauthorised use.
NOTICE
Hazardous atmosphere!
There is a risk of a hazardous atmosphere occurring in the chamber system during work.
Make sure the system is well aerated.
Use safety equipment such as e.g. a multi-gas warning device if necessary.
WARNING
Explosive gas mixture can escape from tanks! The gases formed by the separated material are potentially
explosive.
Empty system tanks regulaly containing separated material!
Avoid naked flames and sparks during disposing or dismantling.
Always ensure that the room is ventilated properly.
WARNING
Explosion hazard due to transfer of an EX-zone. Inadequate aeration and ventilation in connected systems
can cause the gas released by the separated material to spread into downstream systems where it can
cause an explosive mixture of gases.
On connecting a separator system, ensure proper ventilation of the downstream drainage system (especially lift-
ing stations or pumping stations).
WARNING
Danger through incorrectly dimensioned connection cables!
Only use the device with the enclosed connection cables (or equivalent).
WARNING
Live parts
Heed the following points when working on electrical cables and connections.
The national regulations concerning electrical safety apply to all connections and installation work.
The system must be supplied through a residual current protection device (RCD) with residual current of not
more than 30mA.
WARNING
Transport risk / system's own weight!
Check the weight of the system / system components (see "Product description and technical data", page 24).
Pay attention to correct lifting and ergonomic factors.
Standing under overhead loads is prohibited.
The cover plate may only be transported tightly lashed down on the pallet.
CAUTION
Chamber installation for load class D requires a load distribution plate made of reinforced concrete.
Note the structural calculations for traffic safety.
Determine the required load class and structural calculations in accordance with the environment / use condi-
tions.
Note the relevant reinforcement plan on the KESSEL website.
NOTICE
Disconnect system from energy sources!
Ensure that the electrical equipment is disconnected from the power supply during the work.
Secure the electrical equipment against being switched on again.
