MACsec Port-Information
[ Netzsicherheit > MACsec > Port-Information ]
In this dialog, you can monitor the detailed status and operational statistics of
a MACsec-capable port.
[Port-Übersicht]
This tab lets you view the status of the Secure Channel (SC), Secure Channel Identifier (SCI) and
Secure Association (SA).
An SC is a bidirectional secure communication medium between two devices through which the
devices exchange the MACsec-protected data packets. Each SC is identified by a unique ID known
as SCI. The device adds this SCI in the MACsec-protected data packets so that the peer device
could identify which SC the data packet belongs to. Within each SC, there is SA, one for each direc-
tion of the data packets. The SA supports encrypting and maintaining the integrity of the data
packets using Security Association Key (SCI).

Displays the number of the physical port on which the
Lokaler TxSCI
Displays the 64-bit identifier that identifies the SC used to send MACsec-protected data packets
from this port. It is a concatenation of the device MAC address and port ID. This allows the peer
device to uniquely identify the source of the MACsec-protected data packets.
Senden SC sendet
Displays whether the device is actively sending MACsec-protected data packets using the esta-
blished transmit SC.
Senden SA nächster PN
Display the next sequential Packet Number (PN) that the device assigns for sending MACsec-
protected data packets using the current SA. The peer device checks the PN to verify that each
data packet received by them is unique, which helps prevent replay attacks.
SCI-Empfang
Displays the 64-bit identifier that the device receives from the peer device. It is a concatenation of
the peer device MAC address and port ID. This helps the device to uniquely identify the incoming
SC and source of the received MACsec-protected data packets.
