For the safety of the person to be rescued, it is essential that the necessary clearance for the rescue procedure is
ensured before each use of the rescue harness with carrying function, so that no impact with the ground or other
obstacles is possible.
•
Hazards such as extreme temperatures, exposure to sharp edges, cuts, abrasion, slack ropes, chemicals, electrical
influences or climatic effects can impair the function of the equipment
14. Inspection and general information
•
If there is any doubt about the safe condition of the system or its components, they must be replaced immediately.
This must be carried out by the manufacturer or another competent person.
•
Systems damaged by a fall must be withdrawn from use and returned to the manufacturer or an authorized repair
workshop for maintenance or repair and retesting.
•
Do not make any changes to the product.
•
Repairs may only be carried out by the manufacturer.
•
An instruction manual / inspection book is supplied with every rescue harness with carrying function. This must be
kept with the equipment
•
The contents of the instructions for use of the products used in conjunction with the rescue harness with carrying
function and the applicable accident prevention regulations must be observed.
•
The declaration of conformity can be downloaded from the Internet at www.mittelmann.com.
•
As required, but at least once a year, an inspection must be carried out by the manufacturer or by an expert (see point
12 Operational test). This inspection must be documented and dated in the inspection log provided. In addition, the
next inspection date must be visibly noted on the type plate (e.g. with an inspection sticker).
•
The rating plate with date of manufacture and serial number is located in the rating plate pocket with the i symbol on
the left shoulder strap.
•
If the equipment is resold to another country, the reseller must provide instructions for use, maintenance, periodic
inspection and repair in the language of the other country.
•
The rescue harness with carrying function must not be used for fall arrest purposes.
•
The rescue harness with carrying function may only be used and/or stored unprotected in the offshore area for a
limited period of time. The metal components must be checked for signs of corrosion with appropriate care and at
shorter intervals.

15. Cleaning instructions

•
After each use, the rescue harness with carrying function must be thoroughly cleaned and then stored dry in a
ventilated room protected from UV radiation.
•
Avoid contact with acids, corrosive liquids and oils. If unavoidable, clean as quickly as possible with mild detergent and
hand wash in plenty of water (approx. 30 °C). Always dry naturally, never near fire or other sources of heat.
•
Do not dry clean, tumble dry or spin dry and do not use bleach.
•
If you have any questions about disinfection, please contact the manufacturer.
•
Any body fluids on the rescue harness with carrying function may only be cleaned with water.
