10. Material specifications
The product consists of the following materials:
•
Polyamide and polyester webbing
•
Polyamide fabric cuttings
•
Polyester sewing thread
•
Fittings made of aluminum, steel and stainless steel
•
Plastic parts
•
Aluminum and stainless-steel push-in fasteners
•
Aluminum or stainless-steel snap hooks
11. Storage and transport
•
Any kind of contact with acids, corrosive liquids and oils must be avoided at the storage location.
•
If the product has become damp or wet, it must be dried naturally before storage. Always dry naturally, never in the
vicinity of fire or other sources of heat.
•
The product should be placed in a suitable transport bag for transport.
12. Operational test
The inspection points below are to be checked before each use and apply only to stretchers that are not vacuum-sealed:
•
Webbing or fabric damage due to abrasion, cutting, heat or chemicals
•
Any type of damage to seam connections
•
Any type of damage to the supporting textile structure
•
Any type of soiling caused by technical liquids or solids that can no longer be cleaned
•
Damage to the Velcro fasteners
•
Deformation or corrosion of the fittings or push-in fasteners
•
Defective fasteners or buckles
•
Legibility of product labelling
As soon as one of the characteristics is determined to be "not OK" during the pre-use inspection, the rescue harness with
carrying function must not be used.
The inspection points are not required for sealed stretchers, provided that the annual inspection of the vacuum unit has
been inspected each year.
13. Safety requirements
•
Any combination of different equipment can cause unforeseen hazardous situations and negatively affect the safety
of the user
•
All instructions in this user manual must be observed to protect the user and the rescue harness with carrying function.
The rating plate must be legible.
•
To avoid the occurrence of suspension trauma to the injured person, the user must have an emergency plan in place.
(Suspension trauma can occur if the return flow of blood from the legs is impeded or lost during prolonged, motionless
hanging in a harness. This can lead to orthostatic circulatory shock. The injured person cannot perform any muscle
pumping or other relieving movements due to the fixation by the textile elements. The duration of hanging in a vertical
position must therefore also be minimized.
•
It is necessary to check the attachment to the person again before use.
