Storing rechargeable batteries
Note: Rechargeable batteries last
the longest when they are well
cared for and, above all, stored at
the correct temperatures. However,
with increasing age, the capacity
decreases even when stored cor-
rectly. A significantly reduced oper-
ating time despite a full battery indi-
cates that it has been used up.
• Leaving the battery in an empty state for a
long time may damage it and greatly
reduce its capacity.
• Charge batteries before storage to avoid
damage and deep discharges. The opti-
mum charge level before storage is
around 70%.
• If stored for a very long time, check the
charge level regularly; recharge the bat-
tery if necessary.
