Trouble Shooting
Problem
The shotblaster
works briefly and
then ejects all
abrasive
(«carpeting effect».
Possible cause
– Is the blast wheel ro-
taing in the correct di-
rection?
– Has the blast wheel
worn out?
– Has the shot cage been
correctly adjusted?
– Has the shot cage worn
out?
– Is the rubber seal
around the magnetic
frame lying snugly with
the floor?
– Is the rubber seal worn?
– Is the shot blaster set
too high?
– Is the turbine drive belt
too loose? (There is
slippage and the impel-
ler does not reach the
required speed)
– Can the floor be sand-
blasted?
– Is it dry, not too elastic
or too soft?

Solution
– Check the rotation.
– Change the blast wheel.
– Adjust the shot cage.
– Change the shot cage.
– Readjust the rubber
sealings around the magne-
tic frames.
– Change the rubber seals.
– Readjust the height of the
machine.
– Tighten the belt.
– Check the condition of the
floor first and consider alter-
natives to shotblasting if the
floor is too soft.
