Operating and shotblasting - preparation
Operating the Shotblaster may only take place in accordance with the safety rules
and precautions described in these instructions! Transport the Shotblaster and the
extraction system to the area to be blasted.
Transporting the machine is made much easier by raising the machine. Insert the lifting
rod /handle (see picture below) into the bolt of the rear wheel swing arm axis (No. 10, 72)
and pull it up. The raised rear swing arm is secured by inserting the coupling pin (No. 65)
through the hole in the swing arm and then through the hole in the left side plate of the ma-
chine.

f Make sure that all consumables are in good condition. All wearing parts are defined
further in Chapter 3. If in doubt, replace them.
f Check all electrical supply cables.
f Connect the Shotblaster to the vacuum system using the dust extraction hose. It is im-
portant that the hose is tight along its entire length and at the fittings. Small holes or in-
correct fitting of the connecting pieces can reduce the suction power considerably. If
you want to blast smaller rooms, it makes sense to attach the supplied dust hose bra-
cket for the suction hose above the turbine motor. Route the hose through the top of the
bracket. The hose is kept away from the machine when reversing and is not always in
front of the rear wheels.
f Connect the dust collector to the mains socket. The feed cable of the shotblaster is
connected to the socket on the dust collector. It makes sense to tie the cable from the
shotblaster to the suction hose with insulating tape or something similar. The base unit
of the shotblaster requires a 16 A, 3 Phase + earth connection. If a double machine is
being operated, a 32 A, 3 phase + earth connection is required.
(USA 44 A, 230 V, 60 Hz)
f Check the floor to be blasted for parts such as screws, nuts, stones, etc. and, if neces-
sary clean the surface with a broom or a suction system if necessary. Slight obstacles
such as concrete joints and steps are no problem for the machine.
f In the case of larger steps, it should be checked before activating the turbine whether
the machine can drive over these areas without any problems.
f Remove the coupling pin (65) from the hole in the side plate and lower the machine with
