– Check the seal in the tank lid for dam-
ages, and clean if necessary. Immediately
replace damaged seals!
– Tighten the tank lid (11) by hand.
Filling with motor oil
► P. 3, fig. 2
– Unscrew the motor oil filling screw (15)
and remove.
– Carefully top up the motor oil (tank contents:
► Technical data – p. 47). Do not spill!
– Tighten the motor oil filling screw (15) up
again by hand.
Set the cutting height
► P. 5, fig. 6
The cutting height can be set to several different
heights (Cutting heights: ► Technical data – p. 47).
– Pull the lever (6) to the side.
– Set the cutting height to the value you
require, and let the lever slot back into place.
Attach the collection box
► P. 5, fig. 7
– Lift the protective flap (7) and hold.
– Hook in the collection box (8).
– Make that the collection box is securely
engaged.

Operation

Check before starting the device!
DANGER! Risk of injury! The
device may only be put into opera-
tion if there are no defects. If a part
is defective it must be replaced
before the device is used again.
Check to make sure the device is in safe
operating condition:
– Check to make sure there are no visible
defects.
– Check to make sure all device compo-
nents are correctly mounted.
Starting the motor

DANGER! Danger of fire! Spilled
fuel can set the product on fire.
Carefully wipe up any spilled fuel up
before starting.
Start the product a minimum of nine
metres away from where you filled it.
Note: In case of start-up difficulties,
please refer to the following able:
► Troubleshooting – p. 46

Note: Pull the pull starter out and
slowly guide it back using your
hand.
– Engage and firmly hold the switch-on
bar (1) up to the stop.
– Slow pull out the pull starter (9) until you feel
a resistance, then quickly and forcefully,
until the initial ignition noise can be heard.
– Pull out the pull starter again quickly and
forcefully until the motor starts up.
– Allow the engine to warm up for approx.
10–15 seconds.
Switching off the motor

WARNING! Risk of injury! Always
switch off the product when not in
use for short periods.
– Release the switch-on bar (1).
Mowing
DANGER! Risk of injury! Before
starting work, check the area and
remove all objects which may be
kicked up by the unit.
– Slowly engage and firmly hold clutch lever
for travel guide (10) up to the stop.
– Guide the unit at an even, slow pace (walking
speed) and with as straight a path as possible.
Important notes
• Always work at right angles to the slope.
• Try not to cut grass when wet.
• Use overlapping paths to produce an
even cutting pattern.
• Cut longer grass with a greater cutting
height initially, then cut crosswise using
the desired cutting height.

Cleaning and maintenance

DANGER! Risk of injury! Carry
out the maintenance work
described here in person.
Improper maintenance work can dam-
age the device and lead to injuries.
DANGER! Risk of injury! Before
carrying out any maintenance or clean-
ing work, the machine must be discon-
nected from the power and secured to
prevent accidental switch on.
