from the charger socket. Avoid consecutive short charges. Do
not recharge the battery after using it for a short time. A
significant drop in the time between necessary recharges
indicates that the battery is worn out and should be replaced.
Batteries become very hot during the charging process. Do
not start work immediately after charging - wait until the
battery has reached room temperature. This will prevent
damage to the battery.
BATTERY CHARGE STATUS INDICATION
The battery is equipped with a battery charge status indication (3
LEDs) (12). To check the charge status of the battery, press the
switch button (11) (Fig. C). Lighting of all LEDs indicates a high
level of battery charge. The lighting of 2 diodes indicates partial
discharge. The lighting of only 1 diode indicates that the battery
is exhausted and needs to be recharged. INSTALLATION AND
REPLACEMENT OF WORK TOOLS
The hammer drill is suitable for use with work tools having SDS-
Plus shanks. Clean the hammer drill and the working tools before
starting work. Using grease, apply a thin layer to the shank of the
working tool.
The hammer drill has a clic-clic clamping system (no need to pull
back the clamping sleeve (2) when installing the work tool).
• Set the direction of rotation switch (3) to the centre position.
• Insert the shank of the work tool into the holder (1), inserting it as
far as it will go (it may be necessary to rotate the work tool until
it is in the correct position) (fig D).
• A work tool is properly seated if it cannot be removed without
pulling back the chuck retaining sleeve.
• If the bushing (2) does not fully return to its original position,
remove the working tool and repeat the entire operation.
High efficiency with a hammer drill is only achieved if sharp
and undamaged working tools are used.
DISASSEMBLY OF THE WORK TOOL
Shortly after work, work tools may be hot. Avoid direct contact
with them and wear suitable protective gloves. Clean the
working tools after removal.
• Pull back and hold the fixing sleeve (2).
• Pull the working tool forward with the other hand (fig D).
OVERLOAD PROTECTION
The hammer drill is equipped with overload protection. The spindle
of the hammer drill stops as soon as the working tool jams, which
could cause the power tool to overload.
OPERATION / SETTINGS
ON/OFF
Switching on - press the switch button (4).
Switching off - release pressure on the switch button (4).
The spindle speed range is adjusted by the degree of pressure
applied to the switch button (4).
Each time the switch button (4) is pressed, an LED (light emitting
diode) (6) illuminates the work area.
DIRECTION OF ROTATION RIGHT - LEFT
The direction of rotation of the hammer drill spindle is selected
using the rotation switch (3).
Turn clockwise - set the switch (3) to the extreme left position.
(Fig E).
Left-hand rotation - set the switch (3) to the extreme right-hand
position.
* It is noted that in some cases the position of the switch in relation
to the rotation may be different to that described. Reference should
be made to the graphic marks on the switch or the unit housing.
The safety position is the middle position of the direction of rotation
switch (3), which prevents accidental starting of the power tool.
• The device cannot be started in this position.
• In this position, the drills are replaced.
• Before commissioning, check that the direction of rotation switch
(3) is in the correct position.
Do not change the direction of rotation while the hammer drill
spindle is rotating. Check that the direction of rotation switch
is in the correct position before starting. The left direction of
rotation should not be used when the hammer is engaged.
OPERATING MODE SWITCH
The hammer drill is equipped with a 2-function operating mode
switch (5). Depending on the setting, drilling can be carried out
without impact or drilling with impact (fig F).
Drilling with impact requires low pressure on the hammer drill.
Excessive pressure would unnecessarily put too much load on the
motor. The condition of the working tools must be checked
regularly. If necessary, the working tools must be sharpened or
replaced.
Before changing the position of the operating mode switch (5),
press the switch lock button "a" (fig. F). Pos. O - drilling without
impact (drill symbol)
Item I - hammer drilling (drill and hammer symbol) Do not attempt
to change the position of the operating mode switch while the
hammer drill motor is running. Doing so could result in
serious damage to the hammer drill or even injury to the user.
DRILLING
• When starting work with the intention of drilling a large diameter
hole, it is advisable to start by drilling a smaller hole and then
reaming it to the desired size. This will prevent the possibility of
overloading the hammer drill.
• When drilling deep holes, drill gradually to smaller depths,
withdrawing the drill bit from the hole to allow the chips or dust to
be removed from the hole.
• If the drill jams during drilling, the overload protection will trip.
Switch off the hammer drill immediately to prevent damage.
Remove the jammed drill bit from the hole.
• Keep the hammer drill in the axis of the hole to be drilled. The
most efficient operation will be ensured if the drill is set at right
angles to the surface of the material being worked on. If
perpendicularity is not maintained during operation, the drill bit
may jam or break in the hole, thereby injuring the user.
Drilling for long periods at low spindle speed risks overheating
the motor. Take periodic breaks or allow the machine to run at
maximum speed without load for about 3 minutes. Take care
not to obscure the holes in the housing used for ventilation of
the hammer drill motor.
DRILLING WITH IMPACT
• Select the appropriate drilling mode, in this case drilling with
impact.
• Insert a suitable drill bit with an SDS-Plus shank into the chuck
(1).
• For best results, use high quality drills with carbide (widia) caps.
• Press the drill against the workpiece.
• Switch on the hammer drill by pressing the on/off button (4), the
hammer drill mechanism should run smoothly and the tool should
not bounce off the surface of the work material.
• If necessary, the speed can be increased by pressing the on/off
button (4).
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Remove the battery from the unit before carrying out any
installation, adjustment, repair or operation.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
• It is recommended to clean the device immediately after each
use.
• Do not use water or other liquids for cleaning.
