1.5 Terms used
1.5.1 Island operating system
Energy storage system with necessary switching, control and measuring equipment, which generates island operation in case of power
outage or grid disconnection (according to VDE-AR-E 2510-2-2015-09 / CEI 0-21:2019-04).
The product solution described in this manual is provided for a temporary island operation! An application for Off-Grid solutions is
excluded!
1.5.2 Island operation
The automatic transfer switch is a part of the island operating system and responsible for the provisioning of the island grid.
The island grid is built by the power storage system Vitocharge VX3, Type 4.6A.
1.5.3 Backup power/Backup power mode
During the island operation, the power storage system Vitocharge VX3, Type 4.6A generates backup power at the connection X2 of the
Automatic Transfer Switch.
