Make sure that the cutting line is in the line slot on
the new spool, and is extended approximately 15 cm
before you install the new spool.

Put the ends of the cutting lines through the spool
cover line slots.
7.
Extend the cutting line to release it from the line
slots in the spool.
8.
Install the spool and spool cover onto the trimmer
head.
9.
Push the spool cover until it clicks into position.

REPLACE THE CUTTING LINE

Remove the remaining cutting line on the spool.
Use only with the nylon cutting line of 2 mm
diameter.
1.
Cut a piece of cutting line approximately 3 m
long.
2.
Bend the line at the midpoint and hook the loop
into the slot in the center rim of the spool. Make
sure that the line snaps into position in the slot.
3.
With your finger between the lines, wind the
lines equally and tightly around the spool in the
indicated direction.
4.
Put the lines in the line slots.
5.
Do not wind the lines beyond the edge of the
spool.

ASSEMBLE THE TRIMMER HEAD

1.
Put the spacer correctly on the shaft.
2.
Attach the inner ring-nut to inner cup in the
indicated direction.
3.
Make sure that the grooves of the inner ring-
nut align perfectly with those of the angle
transmission.
4.
Put the wrench in the specified angle
transmission hole.
5.
Turn the trimmer head and push the wrench
until the wrench engages the inner ring-nut hole,
blocking rotation.
6.
Assemble the trimmer head.
7.
Turn the trimmer head counterclockwise to
tighten it.
8.
Remove the wrench.

Put the wrench in the specified angle
transmission hole.
2.
Turn the trimmer head and push the wrench
until the wrench engages the inner ring-nut hole,
blocking rotation.
3.
Turn the trimmer head clockwise to loosen it. Do
not remove the spacer from the shaft.

Simultaneously press the tabs on the sides of the
trimmer head.

Pull and remove the spool cover.
3.
Remove the spool.
4.
Hold the bump knob and pry it out with a metal
rod (not provided).

Put the new bump knob into the spool housing.

Wear gloves and be careful with sharp edges.
Apply the guard to the blade.
1.
Put the spacer correctly on the shaft.
2.
Attach the inner ring-nut to inner cup in the
indicated direction.
3.
Make sure that the grooves of the inner ring-
nut align perfectly with those of the angle
transmission.
4.
Attach the blade and outer ring-nut with the flat
part facing the blade.
5.
Attach the outer cup without tightening the nut.
6.
Put the wrench in the specified angle
transmission hole.
7.
Turn the blade and push the wrench until the
blade fits in the inner ring-nut hole, blocking
rotation.
8.
Tighten the nut counterclockwise with a 19 mm or
3/4 in. wrench (44/58 Nm).
