2. Description, properties, and mechanism of action

SYNSYS is an all-in-one solution incorporating a knee joint and an ankle joint working in synergy,
as well as a prosthetic foot, providing electronic control of the stance phase. Its behavior adapts
to the walking speed and situations encountered (going downstairs, going up or down slopes...).
Furthermore, the ankle joint enables the patient to wear shoes with a heel of up to 5 cm, or to
walk barefoot.
This device will be fitted by a certified prosthetist who has received specific certifying training.
The certified prosthetist will in turn train their patient how to use the device correctly, in
particular by reading the instructions together.
SYNSYS comprises a proximal part equipped with a male pyramid proximal connection, a tibial
tube and rod, available in different lengths, and a foot suited to the user's size and activity level,
along with its sock and foot shell.
The SYNSYS SOFT configuration software will enable the certified prosthetist to make the
settings on the prosthesis, while guiding them through the sequence of these settings; and view
their patient's activity data.
The patient dedicated SYNSYS app will enable the patient to adjust certain settings on their
prosthesis and view their activity data.
