At the end of the periodic inspection, the return
to service must be notified in writing by the au-
thorised and competent technician who conduct-
ed the periodic inspection. This return to service

must be recorded on the inspection sheet in the
middle of this manual. This inspection record
should be retained throughout the product's life
cycle, up until it is recycled.
After arresting a fall, this product must undergo
a periodic inspection as described in the current
article. The product's textile components must
be changed, even though they may not display
any visible change.
12. Lifespan
Recommended annual inspection
Tractel's safety equipment and systems for
working at heights must, from the date of manu-
facture, be subject to:
• Normal use
recommendations for use in the manual of the
equipment or system,
• A periodic examination which must be carried
out at least once a year by an authorised
and competent technician. At the end of this
periodic examination, the product must be
declared in writing fit for use,
• Strict compliance with the storage and transport
conditions mentioned in the equipment or
system manual.
Service life
Tractel considers this equipment or systems as
mechanical height safety equipment or systems.
These have an unlimited lifespan. If they include
textile components, these must be replaced
after a maximum of 20 years from the date of
manufacture of the textile component.
13. Withdrawal from service
When disposing of the product, all components
must be recycled by firstly sorting them into me-

tallic and synthetic materials. These materials
must be recycled by specialist bodies. During
disposal, dismantling and separating the com-
ponents should be undertaken by a duly trained
person.
