12. This equipment should not be used beyond
its limits or in any situation other than what
it has been designed for: see "4. Functions
and description".
EN
13. If the anchorage device is intended to stop
an operator from falling, the operator must
use a fall arrest system in accordance with
EN 363. This system must guarantee a fall
arrest force of less than 6 kN. If the anchor-
ing device is intended exclusively to limit the
operator's movement out of areas at risk
of falling, the operator can connect using a
lanyard without a fall arrest system in accor-
dance with EN 363. In this case, the anchor-
ing device will be referred to as "restricted
access".
14. The installation of an anchoring device must
be carried out, by appropriate means, in
safety conditions that fully control the risks
of falling incurred by the installer due to the
configuration of the site.
15. The operator of the anchorage device must
check and ensure the constant compli-
ance of this anchorage device, and that of
the PPE associated with it, with the safety
requirements and the rules and standards
applicable in this field. He must ensure the
compatibility of the associated PPE with
each other and with the anchoring device.
16. Before using an EN 363 fall-arrester device,
the operator must ensure that each of the
components is in good working condition:
security system, locking system. When set-
ting up, it is essential to ensure that no dete-
rioration of the safety functions occur.
17. When using a fall arrest system, it is essen-
tial to check the clear space under the op-
erator at the workplace before each use, so
that in the event of a fall there is no risk of
collision with the ground or any obstacles in
the path of the fall.
18. An EN 361 fall arrest harness is the only
body gripping device that is permitted to be
used in a fall arrest system.
10
19. It is essential for the safety of the operator
that the device or anchoring point is correctly
positioned and that work is carried out so as
to minimise the risk of falls from height.
20. For the safety of the operator, if this equipment
is sold outside the first country of destination,
the distributor should supply: an instruction
manual, instructions for maintenance, period-
ic inspections and repairs, all compiled in the
language of the country of use.
21. The maximum deflection under load for this
product is 55mm.
22. An EN 361 fall arrest harness is the only
body gripping device that is permitted to be
used in a fall arrest system. Hang on to the
point on the harness marked with an A.
