● Reattach bolts, washers, spring
washers and nuts to the battery
negative (–) and positive (+) terminals
for safe keeping.
● Install the steering column cover if
necessary. ( 14.17)
Connecting the battery:
● Check the battery voltage before
installing the battery. If the minimum
voltage is not achieved, fully recharge
the battery using a battery charger
before installation.
Minimum voltage: 11,5 V
● Install the battery. ( 14.20)
● If necessary, remove the bolt, washer
and nut from the battery.
Fire hazard!
Always observe the specified
torque. Make sure that the
connection cable is mounted at
right angles to the positive terminal
of the battery and that the screw
connections on the terminals are
always tightened to prevent
damage due to sparking.

Attach the terminal connector of red
connection cable (4) at right angles to the
battery positive (+) terminal.
Tighten the connection cable with bolt (5),
washers (6), spring washer (8) and nut (7)
using two spanners (size 8).
Torque: 6 - 8 Nm
Fire hazard!
Make sure that the connection
cable is attached at right angles to
the positive terminal of the battery.
The cover cap must completely
cover the contact area to avoid
damage due to sparking.
Fit cover cap (3) over contact area (A).
Attach the terminal connector of black
connection cable (2) to the battery
negative (–) terminal.
Tighten the connection cable with bolt (5),
washers (6), spring washer (8) and nut (7)
using two spanners (size 8).
Torque: 6 - 8 Nm
