Installation
The installation should only be carried out by authorized
personnel.
The mounting position is arbitrary. The CSMS should be
installed in such a way that the display is visible.
The active areas of the CSMS and the actuator must
face each other (optimum alignment = tips of the triangle
symbols are pointing exactly at each other
(see page 22 figure 1)).
If the CSMS or actuator is mechanically damaged,
these components must be replaced. This can be done
independently.

Installation safety
The CSMS and the actuator may not be used as a stop.
The specified sensing distances can only be reached if the
following conditions are met:
● The CSMS and the actuator must not be installed close
to magnets.
● The CSMS and the actuator must not be flush
mounted in metallic materials. 17 mm should be
maintained (see fig. 12).
● Metal can influence the sensing distance. In order to
get the maximum switching distance on metallized
substrates, a spacer should be used (see accessories on
page 36).
When multiple CSMS are next to each other, there must be
a minimum clearance space of 100 mm between each CSMS
to ensure trouble-free operation (see fig. 14).
