Flash exposure compensation
This function can be used to selectively reduce or strengthen the
flash exposure regardless of the exposure of the available light, e.g.
in a picture taken outside in the evening, to lighten the face of a
person in the foreground while retaining the lighting atmosphere.
Setting the function
1. In the picture parameters menu (see p. 150/240), select
Flash Exposure Compensation
• A scale appears in the monitor instead of a sub-menu, with
an EV value indicated in red and a white triangle to indicate
the relevant setting. If they are at a value of
that the function is deactivated.
2. Set the desired value.
• In the initial menu list, a set compensation is indicated by
.
EV±X1
This menu function is only available when a system-compatible
flash unit is used that does not have such a setting possibility itself,
such as the Leica SF 26.
Notes:
• Flash exposure compensation changes the range of the flash
unit.
• A set compensation remains active even after any number of
pictures and even when the camera is switched off, or until it is
reset to ±0 (= middle of scale).
