6. Installation
6.1 Preparations
Plan the installation situation. Lay out all of the components. If you wish to provide a mains supply to the automatic controller, ensure that a 230
Volt socket is available near the installation site.
6.2 Suitable installation site and installation conditions
CAUTION!
Risk of physical injury and material damage if used incorrectly!
• Do not extend the pull cord.
• The force from the pull cord can cause injury to humans and animals.
• Incorrect setup can create danger zones for humans and animals.
• The power pack is not protected against moisture. Plug the power pack only into a socket located in a dry and protected area.
For the chicken door, find an installation site having a level and stable base. Be aware that while the slider is opening, a higher load is exerted on
the device than its own weight alone. The installation site must be protected from the ingress of rain.
The electronics unit is always installed in an upright position with the cord outlet on the underside.
6.3 Attachment
Use the mounting screws included in the delivery to attach the chicken door to the coop wall.
Then ensure that the following requirements are met:
• The guide rails of the slider are correctly installed, and the slider reliably closes the opening of the coop.
• The gap between slider and coop wall does not exceed 5 mm throughout the path travelled by the slider during opening. When the slider is
closed, the coop's opening is closed at the top. There would otherwise be a risk that body parts are crushed when the slider is raised.
7. Commissioning
CAUTION!
Risk of physical injury and material damage if used incorrectly!
• Installations on the 230 Volt network must be carried out only by qualified electricians.
• Protect the routing of the cable to the controller, so that the animals are unable to reach it.
• If the device is supplied with power from the power pack, the battery is not used. However you should replace the battery at regular intervals
since otherwise there is a risk that the battery may leak. Spent batteries and the device itself should be disposed of properly without delay.
• Close the housing before connecting the mains plug to the socket.
Before you open the housing, always disconnect the mains plug from the socket
(for example, if you want to insert the light sensor).
To supply the device with power, either connect the power pack to the device and plug it into a 230
Volt mains socket, or insert the batteries into
the device. To be protected against a mains outage, you can also use both supply methods in paral-
lel. Connect the battery connection wires to the corresponding plug.
Open and close the door a few times to ensure it is operating smoothly.
The slider should move easily. If necessary, use a few drops of oil.
You can now make the relevant settings, as described below.
8. Operation
8.1 Time setting
To set the current date and time, press the OK button for around 3 seconds. The year currently set
starts to flash. Change the value using the arrow buttons, and confirm the year setting with the OK button. The date then flashes with the month
and day. Change the value of the date using the arrow buttons. The example shown is
08.06.
The next confirmation takes you to the setting for the current time.
Change the value of the time using the arrow buttons. Exit the Settings menu using the
Menu button.
8.2 Automatic opening and closing using the timer
You can set an opening and closing time for weekdays (Monday - Friday) and for weekends (Saturday + Sunday). Please note that the door will
open or close at the specified times only if automatic mode is active.
