11 OBD II diagnostics

11.1 Reading out fault codes

There are two types of fault codes:
"Hard codes" or "Permanent codes" are faults that activate the check engine light on the
dashboard when an emission-related fault is detected.
"Pending codes" are faults detected during the current or last completed driving cycle.
These codes will be cleared during the next drive should the faults not reoccur. These faults
do not activate the check engine light on the dashboard.
Select [Read Codes] with buttons (6) and (7), and then press the OK button (2).
