TUNING INTO STATIONS
eBe sure to connect the antennas.
eDo not place the AM antenna on a metallic case including the
receiver cabinet or near a CD player, LD player, DAT recorder,
personal computer or TV set. Any of these installations will
cause noise in reception.

1. Press the tuner (FM/AM) function button.
Select the FM or AM broadcasting band.
Each time you press this button, FM and AM changes
alternately.

2. Tune in the desired station by pressing the =) or EJ
button.
e Manual tuning
Tap the E=) or =) button in quick repetitions.
eAuto tuning
Press the E=) or G=) button for a second or two and release it
when the frequency starts to change.
~> The frequency changes automatically. When a station is
received, the frequency stops changing and " Y®" appears on
the display.
eHigh-speed manual tuning
Press and hold the GJ or E=) button.
— The frequency changes continuously and stops when the
button is released.
MONO button (Remote control unit only)
During FM reception: Switches between stereo and monaural
modes when listening to a stereo broadcast. If there is a lot of
noise in the stereo position, switch to MONO, and the noise will
be suppressed.

Beat cut function
If noise occurs while recording an AM broadcast, perform the
following procedures to reduce the noise.
1. Turn off the power.
2. While pressing the STATION MEMORY button, turn on the
power. (The BEAT CUT indicator lights.)
eTo cancel the BEAT CUT function, repeat steps 1 and 2.

ACCORD SUR UNE STATION
e Assurez-vous que l'antenne est effectivement reliée a l'appareil.
@N'installez pas l'antenne AM sur un support métallique tel que
le coffret de !'appareil, ni au voisinage d'un lecteur de CD ou
de LD, d'un magnétophone DAT, d'un ordinateur personnel ou
d'untéléviseur. Danstous ces cas, la réception serait perturbée.
1. Appuyez sur latouche de sélection du syntoniseur (FM/AM).
Choisissez la gamme AM ou FM.
Chaque pression sur cette touche provoque alternativement
le choix de la gamme AM ou de la gamme FM.

2. Au moyen dela touche =], ou de la touche E=) , procédez
a l'accord sur la station.
e Accord manuel
Appuyez briévement et de maniére répétée sur la touche E=),
ou la touche E=).
e Accord automatique
Maintenez la pression d'un doigt sur la touche
C=), ou la
touche
E=), pendant une ou deux secondes et relachez la
pression dés que la fréquence commence & changer.
—> La fréquence d'accord change automatiquement. Lorsque le
syntoniseur détecte la fréquence d'une station, il cesse d'explorer
la gamme et l'indication " Y" s'affiche.
Accord manuel rapide
Maintenez fa pression d'un doigt sur la touche
C=), ou ia
touche =).
-> La fréquence change en permanence mais cette situation
cesse lorsque la touche est relachée.
Touche MONO (sur Ia télécommande uniquement)
Pendant la réception d'une émission FM: Cette touche vous
permet
de choisir la réception
en stéréoptonie
ou en
monophonie. Si, pendant la réception en stéréophonie, le bruit
est trop élevé, choisissez la monophonie.
Suppression des battements
Si l'enregistrement d'une émission AM est enta ché de bruit,
effectuez les opérations suivantes pour tenter de réduire le
bruit.
1. Mettez l'appareil hors tension.
2. Tout en appuyant sur la touche STATION MENMSORY, mettez
l'appareil en service. (Le temoin de suppression des
battements s'éclaire.)
ePour annuler la suppression des battements, répétez les
opérations 1 et 2 ci-dessus.
