e When not using the flash unit for an extended
period, test flash it occasionally to help maintain
capacitor performance.
e When the glass surfaces of the viewfinder or
the tens are smudged with fingerprint stains or
other marks, promptly clean them by lightly
wiping them with some lens-cleaning tissue,
moistened with lens-cleaning solution. Remove
dirt and dust from these surfaces with a blower
brush.
@ In hot summer months, do not leave the
camera where it will get too hot — such as the
beach, in the trunk and interior compartments of
а car — as it can adversely affect film and battery
performance, and evey possibly damage the
camera mechanism itself.
e Give your camera а good cleaning after using
it in the mountains or the seaside. |f neglected,
salt air can corrode camera parts; while sand, dirt
and other foreign matter can damage the
camera's internal mechanism.

e The camera houses a high voltage circuit
which can be a shock hazard. Thus, when the
camera malfunctions, never attempt to dismantle
the camera on your own.
Battery Precautions
€ When not using the camera for an extended
period, be sure to remove the batteries. This will
avoid damage from battery leakage.
€ Generally, batteries will perform less
satisfactorily in cold temperatures. Thus, when
shooting in extreme cold, take such measures that
will help keep your batteries warm or carry a
spare set of batteries with you. One advisable
method would be to keep the batteries warm
inside your pocket.
e Staining of battery terminals with sweat or
grease can result in poor electrical contact. Wipe
the terminals with a dry cloth before putting the
batteries into service.
