AC input socket (AC IN)
MAINS POWER switch
Set to ON to supply power to the recorder. The MAINS
POWER indicator on the front panel will light.
FUSE socket and VOLTAGE SELECTOR (see page 1)
VIDEO IN LINE connector
Input connector for the composite video signal.
VIDEO OUT LINE connectors (LINE-1, LINE-2)
To deliver the composite video signal. When the optional
RS-232C or 45-pin board is installed, LINE-2 outputs a
composite video signal together with on-screen display
information.
VIDEO IN Y/C443 connector
Receives the Y/C443 (separated luminance and chroma)
video signal via a Y/C cable.
VIDEO OUT Y/C443 connector
Delivers the Y/C443 (separated luminance and chroma)
video signal.
VIDEO OUT MONITOR
Y/C443 connector
Delivers the Y/C443 (separated luminance and chroma)
video signal to a monitor.
External sync input connector (SYNC IN) (Loop-
through with 75-ohm terminating switch)
An external syne signal can be applied to this connector
when the recorder is operated in the external sync mode.
The external syne signal can be either a black burst or
composite sync signal.
AUDIO MONITOR
connector
The audio signal selected by the AUDIO MONITOR SELECT
switches on the front panel is available via this connector.
TIME CODE IN/OUT connectors
A timecode
generator/reader can be connected to the
IN/OUT
connector
for recording/reading
of SMPTE
longitudinal time codes.
AUDIO INPUT SELECT switch
HCOM:
Set to this position to record audio signals input
via the AUDIO IN Hi-Fi connectors onto both the
Hi-Fi and Normal audio tracks. "Hi-Fi combined"
recording.
SEP:
Set to this position to record audio signals input
via the AUDIO IN Hi-Fi connectors onto the Hi-Fi
audio track, and signals input via the AUDIO IN
NORMAL
connectors
onto the Normal audio
track."Separate" recording.
Set to this position to record audio signals input
via the AUDIO IN NORMAL connectors onto both
the Hi-Fi and Normal audio tracks. "NORMAL
combined" recording.
TIMER select switch
Power can be switched on by an ordinary timer.
REC:
The BR-S605E starts recording at the preset time.
At the end: of the tape, the tape is automatically
rewound to the beginning.
OFF:
No timer operation.
PLAY:
The BR-S605E starts playback at the preset time.
When the tape ends, it is automatically rewound to
the beginning.

AUDIO OUT Hi-Fi connectors
Hi-Fi audio output connectors for Audio-1 (Left) and Audio-2
(Right).
AUDIO OUT NORMALJ/Hi-Fi connectors
Normal audio or Hi-Fi audio output connectors for Audio-1
(Left) and Audio-2 (Right) depending on the setting of
Memory Switch 40. When this switch is set to ON, Hi-Fi
audio signals are output. During search or playback of
tapes with no Hi-Fi audio signals recorded, normal audio
signals are output.
Dummy PWB slot
When
no extension
board is used, do not remove the
dummy board from the slot, otherwise no video signal can
be input, and the LINE-2 and MONITOR Y/C358 connectors
do not output any video signal.
