Handling and storage
© Do not use this recorder in areas subject to the following
conditions:
—extreme heat, cold, or humidity,
—excessive dust,
—near appliances generating strong magnetic fields,
—vibrations, and
—poor ventilation.
e Be careful of moisture condensation.
Do not use the recorder immediately after moving it from a
cold place to a warm place, or after heating a cold room.
Otherwise, the tape and the recorder may be damaged by
condensation on the still-cold video head drum and tape
guides.
e Handle the recorder carefully.
* Do not block the ventilation openings.
* Do not place anything heavy on the recorder.
* Do not place any liquids on the recorder.
¢ Use in horizontal (flat) position only.
e During transportation,
« Avoid violent shocks to the recorder during packing and
transportation.
* Before packing, be sure to remove the cassette from the
recorder.
Video cassettes
e@ Only S-VHS
and VHS cassettes
may be used in this
recorder.

S-VHS:
SE-180 for 180 minutes, SE-120 for 120 minutes,
and SE-60 for 60 minutes of recording.
E-240 for 240 minutes, E-180 for 180 minutes,
E-120 for 120 minutes, E-60 for 60 minutes, and
E-30 for 30 minutes of recording.
e Video cassettes have a safety tab to ensure that recordings
are not accidentally erased.
When
the tab is removed,
recording cannot be performed.
VHS:

© Do not expose the cassettes to direct sunlight. Keep them
away from heaters.
e Avoid extreme humidity, violent vibrations or shocks, strong
magnetic fields (near a motor, transformer, or magnet) and
dusty places.
e Keep the cassettes
in cassette
cases
and store them
vertically.
