REMOTE select switch
LOCAL:
Set to this position when the recorder is to be
controlled with its own function buttons. (With
this switch set to the LOCAL position,
remote
control via the rear panel slot or front panel
terminal is not possible.)
Set to this position when the recorder is to be
remote-controlled via the rear panel slot or front
panel terminal.
(None of the recorder's tape operation buttons will function
when this switch is set to the REMOTE position.)
VIDEO INPUT select switch
application of the video input signal.
LINE:
Set to this position when recording a composite
signal applied to the VIDEO IN LINE connector.
SYNC select switch
To select a reference sync signal for the servo system
during playback.
REMOTE:
sync signal as a reference signal.
TRACKING select switch
playback.
AUTO:
Set to this position for automatic tracking during
playback. Automatic tracking does not take
place
with still and
search
pictures.
The
TRACKING (AUTO) indicator @ will light.

AUDIO MONITOR SELECT switches
These switches select the audio output available from the
PHONES jack @ and the AUDIO MONITOR connector. The
Hi-Fi/NORMAL switch also switches the audio level meters
between Hi-Fi and NORMAL.
Hi-Fi:
To monitor the Hi-Fi audio signals.
NORMAL:
To monitor the Normal audio signals.
Normal audio-1 and -2, or Hi-Fi left and right
channels.
The
PHONES
jack outputs
stereo signals.
METER SELECT switch
Switches the indicator on the AUD-2/R/TRACKING meter
between AUDIO-2/R-channel level or TRACKING level.
AUDIO-2/R:
Set to this position to display AUDIO-2/R-
channel level.
TRACKING:
Set to this position to display TRACKING
level.

To remove noise bars during still, slow and search or to
correct video tracking during playback in the manual
tracking mode, turn this control until the indicator on the
AUD-2/R/TRACKING
meter
@ achieves
maximum
deflection. (Also used as a V.LOCK control to eliminate
vertical jitter in the Still mode.)
NORMAL/Hi-Fi (AUD-2/R) REC LEVEL controls
To adjust the normal audio-2 and Hi-Fi right-channel
recording levels.
Use the AUDIO MONITOR SELECT switch @ to switch the
meter between normal audio and Hi-Fi.
AUD-2/R/TRACKING meter
Indicates the recording level of the normal audio-2 or Hi-Fi
right-channel signal during recording. Can also indicate
playback signal levels during playback, or E-E signal levels
in any mode.
When the METER SELECT switch @ is set to TRACKING
during playback, tracking levels are indicated.
NORMAL/Hi-Fi (AUD-1/L) REC LEVEL controls
To adjust the normal
audio-1
and Hi-Fi
left-channel
recording levels.
Use the AUDIO MONITOR SELECT switch @ to switch the
meter between normal audio and Hi-Fi.
AUD-1/L meter
Indicates the recording level of the normal audio-1 or Hi-Fi
left-channel signal during recording.
Can also indicate
playback signal levels during playback, or E-E signal levels
in any mode.
REMOTE connector
Remote control is possible if the REMOTE select switch @
is set to REMOTE.
