damages (e.g. kink or strand break in the wire rope, wear) or alterations
and for legibility of the marking (no additional mechanical markings
allowed). Regular inspections are necessary and must be carried out at
least once a year by a competent person according to the manufacturer's
recommendations. Maintenance (documented disassembly and intensive
inspection) must be carried out at least every 5 years and may only be
performed by SKYLOTEC or a service company trained by SKYLOTEC.
After 10 years at the latest from the production date, the PES webbing
(only for RAPTOR W6, W8) and the brake (all variants) must be replaced
by SKYLOTEC or a service company trained by SKYLOTEC.
The intervals for regular inspections and maintenance depend on the
frequency of use and the external operating conditions (dust, moisture, heat,
etc.) in which the SRL is used. If there are any doubts about safe use, after a
fall (fall indicator triggered, fall indicator RED) or after a rescue (broken seal,
RAPTOR CH20 only), the product must be withdrawn from use immediately
until a competent person has given written approval for further use.
Any repair of damaged and/or defective products or components is
prohibited! Clean dirty products with lukewarm water (possibly with the
addition of neutral soap) and a soft brush. Dry the wet products naturally
and avoid direct exposure to heat.
9.) Storage and transport
Store the product in a dry place protected from direct sunlight. Incorrect
storage can have a negative effect on the service life of the product!
Transport the product/components in suitable containers, protected from
direct sunlight and stress, to prevent damage.
10.) Lifetime
The max. lifetime of 20 years (production date until maturity for discarding)
results from the storage period before delivery to the end consumer and
the period of use.
With the storage period of max. 2 years before delivery to the end user or
before purchase, it must be noted that the products are
• stored without extreme temperature fluctuations,
• protected from UV radiation, moisture, chemicals and harmful/aggres-
sive environmental conditions, andin
• stored in undamaged original packaging.
The service life begins with the delivery to the end user and ends at the
latest with the expiry of the max. lifetime of 20 years. The information on
maintenance after 5 years and replacement of the brake / PES webbing
after 10 years must be observed (see point 8.). After delivery to the end
user (proof by e.g. purchase receipt/delivery note with serial/batch number),
regular inspections are required according to country-specific specifications.
Irrespective of the max. lifetime, the shelf life depends on the condition
of the product, its frequency of use and the external conditions of use.
