The Provox HME Cassette is a device for pulmonary rehabilita-
®
tion. When continuously used, the pulmonary function is likely
to improve and respiratory problems, e.g. coughing and mucus
production, to decrease. Clinical studies have shown also posi-
tive psychological effects.
Especially in the beginning, the slightly increased breathing
resistance may be experienced as discomfort. Starting with HiFlow
Cassettes may therefore be advisable (see above 'Description of
the Device').
During the first weeks of use the mucus production may appear
increased due to thinning of the mucus with retained water.
Always test the spring mechanism of the Provox
prior to use. The top lid should immediately open after releas-
ing the finger.
Do not disassemble the HME Cassette since this may interfere
with its proper function.
Do not reuse the HME Cassette or clean it with water.
