3 Commissioning
Requirements for Problem-free Operation
To operate correctly, the module requires three memory
windows and an interrupt. These are assigned by the
PCI-BIOS or PnP operating system when the PC/PG starts
up.
Resource Conflicts
If you encounter problems during installation, this may be
due to the following problems:
Cause
The resources required by
the module are not avail-
able.
This is displayed by the
PCI-BIOS on the screen
prior to booting.
The message depends on
the particular BIOS but will
say something like: "Re-
source Conflict PCI Network
Controller in slot ...".
The resources assigned to
the module by the PCI-
BIOS are already being
used by non plug and play
ISA modules.

Remedy
Change the hardware con-
figuration of the computer
so that the required re-
sources are available (see
Chapter 2).
Change the configuration of
the relevant ISA modules.
