1. Fold down cover caps (8) on both sides and lock them with key (4).
2. If available, remove cover strips (3)
Note
Do not subject protective caps which have been folded down to any
loads. This may damage the protective caps or cause them to break
off.
3. Push the attachments bracket into slot (12).
Installing the cover profile
1. Cut cover strip (3) to size according to the gaps present.
2. Place cover strip (3) on the basic carrier bar and push into
groove (12).
Removing the basic carrier bars
Removal should be carried out with the help of a second person in order
to avoid damaging the vehicle.
To remove the add-on carrying equipment present:
1. Unlock covers (8) with key (4) and fold them down.
2. Remove the add-on carrying equipment from the basic carrier bars
for rails.
To remove the basic carrier bars for rails:
1. Fold covers (8) up.
2. Pull quick-tightening device (9) in the direction of the arrow and turn
anti-clockwise as far as it will go.
3. Remove the basic carrier bars from the roof rails.
4. Turn quick-tightening device (9) clockwise until a resistance can be
felt.
5. Push quick-tightening device (9) in the opposite direction to the
arrow and engage it in position.
6. Fold down covers (8) on both sides and lock them with key (4). If
cover (8) cannot be closed, slightly turn quick-tightening device (9).
Note
Store the basic carrier bars for rails in a clean and safe place.
Mercedes-Benz recommends you use the transport and stowage bag for
basic carrier bars or basic carrier bars for rails.

approved for the Mercedes-Benz GLC, X254 model series.
The basic carrier bars enable add-on carrying equipment (roof box, ski
rack, etc.) to be attached. For safety reasons, Mercedes-Benz
recommends only using accessories approved for use on Mercedes-Benz
vehicles in conjunction with these basic carrier bars for rails.
