STYLUS REPLACEMENT
if the stylus is used after it is too worn,
not
only will sound
quality
be degraded
but the
record wil! be damaged. The service life of the
stylus
(DT-38/DT-41)
employed
in the DC-7/
DC-7L
is generally 800 —1,600 hours, depend-
ing on
the
condition
of the records
(dirty
records, etc.).
How to remove the old stylus
1. It is impossible to remove the stylus when
the tonearm
is on the rest, therefore, keep
the
START
button
pressed
so
that
the
tonearm
moves
to where
the stylus can be
seen.
Now
unplug
the power
cord
and the
platter will stop.
2. (For U.S.A. and Canada:
Fig. 27) Hold the
stylus
assembly
lightly and
pull it down-
wards.
If you grip it too firmly, you may
not be able to remove
it.
(For other countries: Fig. 28) Pull the stylus
assembly obliquely down from the cartridge.
How to fit a new stylus
1. (For U.S.A. and Canada:
Fig. 27} Hold the
stylus
assembly
horizontally
and
insert
it
vertically
into
the cartridge,
aligning
the
front
of the stylus assembly
and
the edge
of the tonearm.
If this does
not
insert
it correctly,
push it
backwards.

other
countries:

Insert the
stylus
assembly
obliquely
upward,
fitting
both sides of the stylus into the cartridge.
2. After
replacing
the stylus, plug the power
cord
in again, The
tonearm
will automati-
cally return to the rest.
Notes:
@ The
performance
can
be guaranteed
only
when
a JVC
replacement
stylus
is used.
Therefore, specify a JVC stylus when
pur-
chasing a replacement stylus.
@ A blue stylus assembly (DT-41)
is provided
generally on units for other countries. But,
a yellow stylus assembly (DT-38) may be
provided,

assembly
is provided
on
your
unit
and
follow the corresponding description.
MAINTENANCE
Head cleaning
Head
cleaning
is required
to assure
optimum
performance.
The
heads which come
into con-
tact
with
the tape attract
minute
particles
of
dust and become dirty.
If the heads are dirty...
e Sound quality becomes bad.
e@ The sound
level drops.
@ Recording becomes impossible.
e Sound
is interrupted.
@ Previous recordings are not erased.
Because
of these
phenomena,
keep the heads
clean, Wipe the
heads
with
a cleaning stick or
cloth dipped in alcohol.

Wenn
eine abgenutzte
Nadel
verwendet wird,
ist
nicht
nur
die
Klangqualitat
schlechter,
sondern
die Schailplatte

betragt

Nadeltrager

Auswechseln
des
Nadeltragers
priifen,
welcher
Typ
mitgeliefert
ist,
und
die
entsprechenden Anleitungen befolgen.
WARTUNG
Reinigung der Tonképfe
Eine Reinigung der Tonkdpfe
ist erforderlich,
um
eine
optimale
Leistung
zu
erzielen.
Die
Képfe ziehen durch den Kontakt mit dem Band:
feinste Staubpartikel an und werden
schmutzig.
Wenn die Képfe schmutzig sind...
@nimmt die Klangqualitat ab,
e wird die Wiedergabe |eiser.
e@ ist Aufnahme
nicht mehr mdglich,
etreten Tonausfalle auf,
ewird
bei der Aufnahme die vorige Aufnahme

Aus

sauber
gehalten
werden.
Reinigen
Sie
die
K6épfe
mit einem
Watte-
stabchen oder mit einem Tuch, das in Aikohol
getaucht wurde.
