FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
•
Remove the pillion seat using the key as shown in picture 1.
•
Remove the two bolts arrowed in picture 2 and remove the tool holder/cable bracket.
•
Unclip the two wiring holders arrowed in picture 3.
•
Remove the two bolts arrowed in pictures 4 and 5 and remove rider seat.
•
Remove the four plastic rivets arrowed in picture 6 and remove the infill panel.
•
Disconnect the indicator and licence plate illuminator wiring plug sockets arrowed in picture 7.
•
Remove the three bolts that hold the original licence plate bracket from under the pillion seat as
arrowed in picture 8.
•
Gently remove the original licence plate bracket whilst taking care to avoid snagging the wiring (it
has a cable clamp that must be removed).
If using the original indicators
•
Remove the spreader/location plate arrowed in picture 9.
•
Gently squeeze the indicator stem and remove the indicator.
•
Repeat for the other indicator.
•
Fit the original indicators to the new licence plate brackets (items 4 and 7) using the indicator
adaptors (item 15)
indicator and the bracket.
If fitting R&G indicators
•
If fitting R&G mini indicators, pass the bullet connectors through one length of heat shrink (item
11) over the indicator wires and heat gently with a lighter or heat gun to protect the wires when
fitted.
•
Use 2 x indicator adaptors (item 15) per side by inserting the protruding boss of each adapter
into the indicator wing so the bosses meet in the middle.
•
Sandwich the indicator plates by passing the indicator wires and threaded section through the
centre hole and secure with the flanged nut provided with the indicator as shown in pictures 11
& 12.
•
The OEM wiring harness will need to be modified with bullet connectors (item 14) for each side.
Cut the OEM indicator connector from the wiring harness and fit 2 x female bullet connectors to
the wires.
•
With the indicators of choice fitted to the indicator mounting brackets, use the four bolts (item 3)
to secure to the tail bracket (item 1) in position as shown in pictures 13 and 14.
•
Before proceeding, cut and stick the adhesive foam strips (item 10) to protect the tail tidy and
underside of the tail unit from wear in the pattern shown in picture 15, trimming where
necessary.
•
Provided with the licence plate light assembly (item 2) is a shroud which should be secured to
the light using a small amount of superglue, this is to direct the light in the correct direction when
fitted.
•
Fit one length of heat shrink (item 11) over the wires and heat until wires are neatly protected.
•
Secure the R&G licence plate illuminator to the tail bracket with the light facing downwards, as
shown in picture 16 using the M3 nuts provided.
