Answering mode

The answering machine is provided with two answering modes.

Answer and Record mode

Answer Only mode
In Answer and Record mode (default setting), the caller can leave a
message after the outgoing message has stopped.
In Answer Only mode, the caller only hears an outgoing message.
There is no opportunity for callers to leave a message.

When Answer and Record mode has been selected and the
maximum memory capacity has been reached, the answe-
ring machine switches automatically to Answer Only mode.
As soon as messages have been deleted and memory
space is available again, the answering machine automati-
cally switches back to Answer and Record mode.
Outgoing messages
The answering machine is provided with two pre−recorded messages,
one for each answering mode, in German and French.

Recording an outgoing message
As soon as your own outgoing message is recorded, only
that version is played.

While the message is being recorded, RECORDING" appears in the

handset display.

Speak your message clearly and precisely in the microphone on
the handset.
Press the M to save the outgoing message. The message

recorded is played back loud.
Press the C button to return to the previous menu level

without saving the message.
Pay attention that outgoing message recording is long
enough to be able to use the remote access function should

If a call is received during recording, the recording function
is stopped.
Reactivating the default outgoing messages
Deleting the outgoing message you recorded yourself automatically
reactivates the pre−recorded, default message.

The pre−recorded messages cannot be deleted.
Screening calls
When the answering machine is switched on, it is possible to listen to
callers on the base station or handset as they record their message.
You can then decide whether to take the call after all.
SCREENING? appears in the handset display.

The handset display queries whether you want to listen to the mess-
age as it is being recorded.
