NOTE:
Do not use the chain saw if the chain is
damaged or worn.
Before using
•
Check that all the parts are correctly and
firmly in place and that the chain saw has
no visible defects.
•
Check that the chain is correctly
tensioned.
•
Check that the kickback guard/chain brake
is working properly.
•
Check the chain lubrication.
•
Check for any oil leakage.
COMMISSIONING
Kickback guard/chain brake
IMPORTANT:
•
Always check before use that the
kickback guard/chain brake is working
properly. Never use the chain saw if the
kickback guard/chain brake is not
working properly. Take the chain saw to
an authorised service centre to be
checked and repaired.
•
The chain saw has a chain brake that
triggers if the chain breaks and stops the
chain in a fraction of a second in the
event of kickback. The chain brake is
applied automatically when the kickback
handle comes into contact with the left
hand of the user.
•
For this reason, always hold the chain
saw firmly with both hands according to
the instructions.
Activation of chain brake
Press the kickback handle towards the tip of
the bar.

Checking the chain brake
1.
Place the chain saw on a level, stable
surface.
2.
Release the chain brake.
3.
Hold the chain saw firmly with both hands
in accordance with the instructions.
4.
Start the chain saw and press the power
switch to start the chain.
5.
Press the kickback handle towards the
tip of the bar. The chain must stop
immediately! Clean the visible parts on
the chain brake mechanism after use.
WARNING!
Never use the chain saw if the kickback
guard/chain brake is not working properly.
Take the chain saw to an authorised service
centre to be checked and repaired.
Checking the chain lubrication
1.
Start the chain saw in accordance with the
instructions.
2.
Run the chain when holding the bar
about 15 cm over a suitable surface for 15
seconds. If the chain lubrication is working
properly there should be splashing of oil
on the surface.
IMPORTANT:
•
Never use the chain saw without chain
oil.
•
Insufficient lubrication reduces the
functionality of the chain saw and its life
span.
•
Check the oil level in the sight glass at
regular intervals.
