Special conditions

1. The flow measuring device has to be integrated into the potential equalisation.
2. Do not open the transmitter housing in the presence of explosive atmospheres,
because this would invalidate the EEx nR protection rating.
3. All national regulations governing installation and operation regulations are to be
observed when mounting this electrical device in an explosion hazardous area
(Cat. 3G).
4. Before switching on the device, ensure that the local power supply complies with the
range stated on the nameplate.
5. Repairs (e.g. changing the electronics module) may only be carried out when cir-
cuits are not alive.
6. All technical data issued by the manufacturer are to be observed.
7. Use of the devices is restricted to mediums against which the process-wetted mate-
rials are adequately resistant.
8. Do not plug in the service connector in the presence of explosive atmospheres.
9. Only cable entries are to be used which comply with Category 3G standards.
10.At suitable, regular intervals, check all seals of the transmitter housing for leaks, and
replace unsatisfactory seals as necessary. Use only seals supplied by E+H.

General warnings

Warning:
N Installation, connection to the electricity supply, commissioning and maintenance of
the devices must be carried out by qualified specialists trained to work on Ex-rated
devices.
N Compliance with national regulations relating to the installation of devices in poten-
tially explosive atmospheres is mandatory, if such regulations exist.
N Open the device only when it is de-energized (and after a delay of at least 10 minutes
following shutdown of the power supply).
N The housing of the transmitter can be turned in 90° steps, and this must be done only
after a delay of at least 10 minutes following shutdown of the power supply.
After turning the housing the cylinder screw must be tightened again.
N The screw cap has to be removed before the local display can be turned, and this
must be done with the device de-energized (and after a delay of at least 10 minutes
following shutdown of the power supply).
