5. Cleaning and maintenance

WARNING!
Switch off the appliance and let it cool down before cleaning.
Disconnect the appliance from the mains and gas supply before
maintenance.
Clean the hob whilst it is still warm as contaminations can be removed more easily.
The hob panel
Clean the hob panel regularly using a soft cloth which has been wrung out in warm
water with a small amount of washing-up liquid before.
Never use household detergents or bleaches, steel wool, bath/sink stain removers,
abrasive or acrid detergents.
The pan supports
If you clean the pan supports by hand, take care when drying them as the enamelling
process occasionally leaves rough edges. If necessary, remove stubborn stains using
a suitable cleaning paste.
The burners
The burner caps and crowns can be removed for cleaning. Wash the burner caps and
crowns using hot soapy water. Remove marks with a suitable cleaning paste. A well
moistened soap impregnated steel wool pad can be used with caution, if the marks
are particularly difficult to remove. After cleaning, be sure to wipe dry with a soft
cloth.
Ignition electrode
The electric ignition is obtained via a ceramic "electrode" and a metal electrode. Keep
these components very clean to avoid lighting difficulties and check that the burner
crown holes are not blocked.
Thermocouple
The thermocouple is very crucial for cutting the gas supply in case of flame out
during cooking, be sure to keep it in very clean condition.
