Intended Purpose
Intended Use / Application Areas
The Hercules Small rehab car seat is a class 1 medical device.
It is designed for transporting disabled persons and for maintaining a secure seating
position of the user with a height of 100 - 150 cm and a body weight of 18.1 - 50 kg
in motor vehicles. The seat is always secured with the vehicle's own 3-point safety
belt. The 5-point belt of the rehab car seat is used to position and support an upright
sitting position of the user.
The rehab car seat provides additional support for safe sitting, stabilisation of head
control and stable seating in the pelvic area. The seat can be adjusted to the growth
of the user or the physique of different users by adjusting the back height, the head-
rest, the pelvic support, the seat depth and the leg guidance. In addition, the product
offers a wide range of accessories for individual adaptation. Further required accesso-
ries for thorax support can be manufactured by authorised specialists and attached to
the available mounting options on the back of the seat.
Any other use or use beyond this is considered improper.
Indication / Patient Target Group / Intended Users
The rehab car seat is used for children with structural and / or functional limitations or
malpositions in the head and trunk area. It is also used for children who are mentally
or neurologically impaired or have perceptual disorders. It provides a stable and phys-
iological positioning when a standard child car seat is too small or not suitable or the
vehicle's own safety belt is not sufficient for an upright sitting posture in the vehicle.
Risks Associated with Use and Contraindications
In order to find the right rehab car seat for the user, the attending physician should
always be consulted. With proper use, risks can be excluded during application. Con-
traindications are not known.
