Performing the maintenance operations
1.
Shut down the unit and wait at least 30 minutes for it to cool.
2.
Disconnect the cap(s) of the spark plug(s) and disconnect the "-" terminal on the battery (if fitted).
3.
Carry out maintenance in accordance with the information given in this manual and, to avoid the risk of damage to the unit,
only use original parts or their equivalent.
5.3.1
Replace the oil filter and change the oil
The used oil and filter must be recycled or eliminated according to the local regulations in force. In order for the drain operation to
be more effective, it is advisable to run the generating set for around ten minutes before the drain operation in order to make the oil
more fluid.
Drain the oil:
1.
Using a suitable container, drain the engine oil completely by removing the drain plug (A13-B4) and oil filler cap (A4).
2.
Let all of the oil drain out before refitting the drain plug.
Replace the oil filter:
3.
Using an Allen key, unscrew the fastening screw (B5) on the oil filter cover and remove it.
4.
Remove the oil filter (A14-B6) and dispose of it.
5.
Clean the oil filter support bracket and coat the oil filter seal with clean engine oil.
6.
Fit a new oil filter and refit the oil filter cover by tightening the fastening screw.
Fill up the oil:
7.
With the oil drain plug closed and using a funnel, fill up with oil that complies with the specifications in this manual and
check the level regularly using the dipstick.
The oil level must be between the minimum and maximum marks on the dipstick. If the oil level is too low, keep topping it up. If the oil
level is too high, drain some off.
8.
Check that there are no leaks, and wipe away any traces of oil with a clean cloth.
5.3.2
Replace the fuel filter
1.
Close the fuel tap (A7) and place a suitable container underneath the fuel filter (A15-C1).
2.
Note the direction of assembly for the fuel filter.
3.
Pinch the mounting clips (C2) and remove the hoses.
4.
Unscrew the retaining clamp screw (C3) and remove then discard the worn fuel filter.
5.
Observing the direction of fitting, fit a new fuel filter.
6.
Screw the retaining clamp screw back in, and reconnect the hoses by pinching the mounting clips.
7.
Open the fuel tap and check that there are no leaks.
8.
Wipe off all traces of fuel with a clean cloth and close the fuel tap.
5.3.3

Replacing the air filter

1.
Undo the wheel (D1) and remove the air filter cover (D2).
2.
Remove the wing nut (D3) and the filter element (D4).
3.
Replace the filter element with a new one.
4.
Check that the rubber seal (D5) is in good condition; replace it if necessary.
5.
Carefully refit the filter element, wing nut, and then the air filter cover, screwing the wheel back in.
5.3.4
Cleaning the generating set
To ensure it continues to run correctly, the unit must be cleaned regularly. If the unit is installed inside, always check that the
installation is clean and in good condition. If the unit is being used outside (building sites, dusty, muddy or densely wooded areas,
corrosive environment, etc.), it must be cleaned more frequently.
Use of water sprays or high pressure cleaning equipment is prohibited as this may seriously damage the unit.
1.
Use a brush to gently clean the engine air intakes and outlets and, if present, the spark arrester.
2.
Clean the unit with a sponge and water mixed with a mild detergent (car shampoo, for example), then rinse with fresh
water to remove all traces of the cleaning product.
A cleaning foam may be used and wiped off using a soft, absorbent cloth. Stubborn stains may be removed using a suitable solvent (white
spirit or equivalent) and wiped off using a soft, absorbent cloth.
3.
Check the general condition of the unit (no leakage, tightness of nuts and bolts, connections and hoses, etc.)
4.
Apply an anti-rust product to damaged areas, change defective parts and damaged labels if necessary.
Only use original parts and consult an agent if necessary.
6.1
Transport and handling conditions
The unit should be handled gently and sudden movements should be avoided. Ensure that the place where it is to be stored or
used is carefully prepared beforehand. Before any fixed installation on a trailer or inside a vehicle, consult one of our approved
agents.
Before transporting the unit, take the following necessary precautions:
1.
Check that the routes to be used are smooth and drivable. If it proves necessary to use uneven roads, drain the fuel into a
container before setting off.
2.
Check that the bolts are correctly tightened, close the fuel tap (if fitted) and disconnect the battery (if fitted).
3.
The unit should always be transported in its normal operating position; never lay it on its side. Ensure that the unit cannot
fall from the vehicle carrying it, but without exerting too much force (risk of damaging the unit).
