10. Commissioning

First insert batteries in the base station. Shortly after this (within 1 minute), insert the batteries in the out-
door sensor.
Proceed as follows:
• Open the battery compartment on the rear of the base station and insert three type AA/Mignon batteries with correct
polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
• Close the battery compartment again.
Alternatively, the base station can also be operated via a suitable mains adapter (not enclosed, can be
ordered separately). The batteries then serve as back-up in case of power outage.
• Right after inserting the batteries into the base station, all display segments appear briefly, the display lighting is
switched on and a brief signal sound is emitted. The display lighting goes out again.
• The display shows the first measured values (indoor temperature, indoor humidity, barometric pressure).
If only chaotic characters appear in the display, take out the batteries for a few seconds and insert them
again.
• The base station will now scan for the outdoor sensor signal for 3 minutes.
Important!
Do not move the base station and outdoor sensor and do not push any button. If you push a button at the
base station, scanning for the outdoor sensor is interrupted!
• Now insert the enclosed special rechargeable batteries into the battery compartment of the temperature/humidity
sensor in the right polarity. The LED lights up for 6 seconds and goes out again.
If the LED does not light up, check its polarity. It is also possible that the rechargeable batteries are flat. In
this case, you need to charge them in full sunlight in the outdoor sensor for at least one day.
If the base station cannot find any outdoor sensor within 240 minutes, the sensor scan will automatically
restart.
• The outdoor sensor will transmit the first measured data to the base station. These should now be displayed (out-
door temperature, outdoor humidity, etc.).
• The outdoor sensor now scans for the DCF signal for a few minutes.
The DCF receiver is installed in the housing of the temperature/humidity sensor. This leads to much less
interference in DCF reception than in other weather stations.
Observe:
If you have not installed the outdoor sensor assembled in
yet, but it is still within a building, there may be reception problems (DCF time and date are not displayed
on the base station).
We recommend that you first install the outdoor sensor outdoors and then insert the included batteries into
the battery compartment of the temperature/humidity sensor. Alternatively, at least put the outdoor sensor
by a window or on a balcony for the first test.
