WARNING
If the child restraint system is used on a rear
seat, the front seat may only be moved back
so that the child's feet do not touch the back-
rest. The front seat backrest must also be ad-
justed as described in the vehicle Operator's
Manual. Otherwise, the child could be injured
in the event of an accident or abrupt braking
maneuvers.
To reduce the risk of injury to front passen-
gers, you must select a seat position that is
as far away from the airbag as possible. Addi-
tionally, the driver must ensure that their seat
position allows the vehicle to be driven
safely.
G
DANGER
Make sure that the child restraint system has
a firm base and cannot tip over, before plac-
ing the child in the child restraint system.
Only adjust the shoulder belt settings on the
un-mounted child restraint system with help
from another person, in order to avoid the
child restraint system tipping over with a
child inside. The child could injure themself if
the child restraint system tips over.
G
DANGER
If you secure a child in a forward-facing child
restraint system on the front-passenger seat
and you position the front-passenger seat too
close to the dashboard, in the event of an ac-
cident, the child could:
• come into contact with parts of the vehi-
cle's interior if the PASSENGER AIR BAG
OFF indicator lamp is lit, for example
• be struck by the airbag if the PASSENGER
AIR BAG ON indicator lamp is lit.
This poses an increased risk of serious or
even fatal injury.
Move the front-passenger seat as far back as
possible and completely retract the seat
cushion length. Always make sure that the
shoulder belt strap is correctly routed from
the vehicle's belt sash guide to the shoulder
belt guide on the child restraint system. The
shoulder belt strap must be routed forwards
and downwards from the vehicle's belt sash
guide.
If necessary, adjust the vehicle's belt sash
guide and the front-passenger seat accord-
ingly.
Always observe the information on suitable
positioning of the child restraint system.
Warning notes
G
DANGER
The vehicle seat belt must not be guided be-
tween the child restraint system and the
shoulder belts of the child restraint system.
Otherwise the child is not properly secured
and could be seriously or fatally injured in the
event of an accident, sharp braking or a sud-
den change in direction.
G
DANGER
The vehicle seat belt must be pulled tight and
cannot be twisted under any circumstances.
If the child restraint system's seat belt is im-
properly or not secured, the child may be se-
riously or fatally injured in the event of an
accident, sharp braking or sudden change in
direction.
