TROUBLESHOOTING

The troubleshooting chart below lists basic problems that may occur during start-up and operation. For more detailed
information, contact your area Jacobsen Dealer.
Symptoms
Unit does not have
power
Engine will not start.
Engine hard to start
or runs poorly,
looses power or
stalls.
Mower does not
react properly to
O.P.C. Lever
Reel does not cut,
or cuts unevenly
Possible Causes
1. Power Connector Disconnected
2. Batteries Discharged
3. Engine not running
4. 50 Amp fuse blown
5. 20 Amp circuit breaker tripped
6. Defective Battery
7. O.P.C. bail engaged
1. Choke in wrong position
2. Empty fuel tank or dirty fuel
3. Fuel Shut-off valve closed
4. Engine / Spark Plug
5. Engine switch off
1. Choke in wrong position
2. Dirty or incorrect fuel
3. Loose Wiring
4. Air intake plugged
5. Vent in fuel cap plugged
1. Power switch not on
2. Parking brake engaged
3. Reel switch in off position
4. Broken Belt
5. Bail lever not properly calibrated
6. Traction motor fault
1. Reel to bedknife not adjusted
2. Reel switch in off position
3. Reel motor fault
4. Low battery charge
5. Over Voltage condition
TROUBLESHOOTING
Action
1. Connect Power Connector
2. Fully charge battery pack
3. Start engine before attempting to energize unit
4. Open battery tray and check fuse. Replace
5. Reset
6. Perform load test, replace batteries as needed
7. Disengage bail and restart

2. Drain and refill fuel tank with fresh, clean fuel
3. Open fuel shut-off valve
4. See Engine Manual
5. Turn engine switch to On
1. See Engine Manual
2. Refill with proper grade, clean fuel
3. Check spark plug wire
4. Clean air intake and air cleaner
5. Clean fuel cap
1. Follow proper start-up procedure
2. Disengage parking brake
3. Turn reel switch on
4. Check and replace belts as needed
5. Calibrate bail lever
6. Check LCD display, service traction motor
1. Adjust Reel to Bedknife
2. Turn reel switch on
3. Check LCD display, service reel motor
4. Fully charge battery pack
5. Adjust generator output
