5.4 - Connecting the compressed air line

● Select a quick coupler that is suitable for your air line, bind the thread with Tefl on tape, and then screw it into the compressed air
inlet connection (fi g.12, page 17).
● The quick coupler must be connected to an air line supplying compressed air at between 2.8 and 10 bar (see "TECHNICAL SPE-
CIFICATIONS", page 19).
WARNING:

6 - OPERATION

THE USE OF THE PUMP IN POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE ENVIRONMENTS, IF NOT DULY PROTECTED (PROTEC-
TION NOT SUPPLIED) IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. POSSIBLE ACCUMULATION OF ELECTROSTATIC CHARGES.

6.1 - Using the treadle

The pump in your possession can be used for either continuous or intermittent duty:
● Intermittent duty: press and release the treadle to start and stop the pump (fi g.7, page 5).
● Continuous duty: press the treadle (fi g.7, page 5) then push in the locking pin (fi g.8, page 5) to lock the treadle control in the "ON" position.
The pump will now start working, the operating mode depending on the type of actuator installed.
Press the treadle fi rmly to release the pin and stop the oil fl ow.

6.2 - Using the controls

6.2.1 - UPM model (fi g.9, page 5)
The UPM model is fi tted with a 4/3 directional control valve (centre open) that can be used to operate a double acting hydraulic cylinder.
Position 1 (fi g.9/a): the oil is sent to port "B" and returns to the reservoir via port "A" (fi g.3, page 4).
Position 2 (fi g.9/b): locked position. Ports "A" and "B" (fi g.3, page 4) are closed and the oil fl ow is returned directly to the reservoir.
Position 3 (fi g.9/c): the oil is sent to port "A" and returns to the reservoir via port "B" (fi g.3, page 4).
After moving the control lever to positions 1 or 3, use the treadle as described in section 6.1.
Position the control lever on the central point to relieve the pressure.
NOTE: to use this model with a single acting cylinder, close port "B" with a G1/4" plug with seal washer.
6.2.2 - UPC model (fi g.3, page 4)
The UPC model can be connected to a 4/3 or 4/2 directional control valve with a CETOP 03 connection.
● With the 4/3 valve, the pump operates in the same way as the UPM model.
● With the 4/2 valve, the pump operates in the same way as the UPM model, apart from position 2.
For instructions on connecting the CETOP valve correctly, refer to the documentation supplied with the valve itself.
6.2.3 - UPL model (fi g.5, page 4)
The UPL model can operate both single and double acting cylinders.
The pump is not supplied with a pressure relief device. It must be connected to an external directional control valve to obtain this effect.
The oil return to the reservoir is via port "B" (fi g.5, page 4).
