Welcome.
We are delighted that you have decided to purchase a
product. have been manufacturing and devel-
oping the CRITERION series of loudspeakers since
1982. This successful series has now been expanded by
the addition of two new, revolutionary developments
which are far ahead of their time: the TCI Active series.
The TCI Active models retain the extremely sophis-
ticated cabinets of the previous TCI series. They are
made of multi-layer laminated wood, and are extremely
strong, rigid and low in resonance effects. The produc-
tion process is very complicated, but the result is beau-
tiful and highly efficient cabinets which offer unbeatable
acoustic qualities.
For the TCI 1 A and TCI 2 A these refined mechanical
parts have been combined with an absolutely unique
generation of new power amplifiers. The results are two
pure High-End floor-standing loudspeakers of the highest
quality, developed without any hint of compromise. The
primary aim was always this: musical reproduction to the
highest possible standard of fidelity.
Achieving the aims we had set incurred enormous costs
in terms of development and tooling; these are the most
sophisticated and innovative active loudspeakers that
have ever been built.

For the mid-range spectrum we have developed a com-
pletely new driver, featuring incredible transient response
and virtually complete freedom from coloration and
distortion.
Both models incorporate a high-frequency electrostatic
unit with curved membrane. This is a completely new
development: an ideal driver for the high-frequency area.
All this technology is packed into cabinets of incompa-
rable quality whose form follows the required function
perfectly: the baffles are as narrow as possible, and all
transitional areas are of subtle flowing shape. The sides
and back panels are sculpted, three-dimensional profiles,
to ensure that they are absolutely free of resonance
whilst providing the maximum possible internal volume
for the transmission line.
