This model is equipped with a canister to
prevent the discharging of fuel vapor into
the atmosphere. Before operating this
vehicle, make sure to check the following:
• Check each hose connection.
• Check each hose and canister for
cracks or damage. Replace if dama-
ged.

Engine oil and oil lter cartridge

The engine oil level should be checked
before each ride. In addition, the oil must
be changed at the intervals speci ed in
the periodic maintenance and lubrication
chart.

To check the engine oil level
1. Start the engine, warm it up for several
minutes, then turn it o .
2. Wait a few minutes for the oil to settle.
3. Place the vehicle on a level surface and
keep it straight. A slight lateral inclination
is enough to cause errors in the control.
4. Check the oil level through the oil ller
cap with inspection rod, located at the top
on the right side of the clutch crankcase.
Unscrew the oil ller cap with dipstick,
clean the oil repositories and insert the
cap as far as it will go, without screwing
it in. Remove the cap and check the oil
level on the dipstick.
The engine oil level must be between
the minimum and maximum level mar-
ks.
5. If the engine oil is below the minimum
level mark, top up with the recommended
type of oil to reach the appropriate level.
Check the level again. If the level is abo-
ve the maximum mark, remove excess
oil.
